Makenna (“Boop”) hosts Beyond The Rave Fam, which airs on Mondays from 11 AM to 1 PM on DANCE 89.5. A lifelong lover of EDM, namely hard house, dirty tech house, and DnB, Makenna didn’t start raving until age 26. She quickly fell in love with the EDM scene and began making social media content about her love of raving, which led her to find more Seattle ravers’ TikTok and Instagram accounts.

In June 2025, as a frequent solo raver, she recognized the need for community and decided to build one rooted in connection, safety, and PLURR. Originally created to help solo ravers and newcomers find their place in the scene, The Rave Fam has evolved into a growing network that hosts meetups, kandi trades, and events. Makenna also runs a Discord community for The Rave Fam, where people can feel supported before, during, and after the rave. Beyond The Rave Fam takes that community and melds it into a show featuring discussions on harm reduction, PLURR, EDM history, news, and great music. She also takes song requests!
